CASE STUDY FOR MICHAEL R. FRANS, CRIMINAL ATTORNEY

New Website : Under construction

MRF was in need of a website. Had information architecture in mind from researching other attorney websites.

Photography

A picture can paint a thousand words. Photography sets the tone, the essence, the philosophy of the company and industry. So many times websites fail because of poor photography, obvious stock photography, or the lack of photos.

This website represents a Criminal Defense Attorney - no frills, this is serious business! The photographs needed to imply the severity of the crimes.

By taking these photos myself, a visual design started taking shape - simple, direct (almost architectural) header photos, depicting the justice system. By editing the color out, the end result were stronger photographs with a serious message.

Visual

Visual for MRF

With my photographs in hand, the Visual Design fell into place. The color palette represented "attorney-type colors;" (think attorney suits!) the dark greys, browns and navy blue. I added the color gold to represent Michael as the "gold standard" in Criminal Defense attornies.

Flash Animation

Information Architecture for Gerald Becker

To bring life to the website, Flash was used. With the variety of photographs, I decided to run the animation quickly, ending the animation with the photograph depicting the words from the Declaration of Independence.

Due to the fact that Michael's url is "Defending All Crimes.com," it was important to highlight the url on the home page.
