Gerald Becker was born and raised in Fresno, CA. where he first attended public schools and later finished a pre-dental program in Chemical Engineering and Biology at California State University. Always interested in human health and welfare, he attended Dental School at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. Gerald graduated with his DDS in 1973 and later this same year received his license to practice Dentistry in both Washington and California.
After graduation, Dr. Becker entered the U.S. Army Dental Corps and completed a one year residency program at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. As a Major in the Army, he was assigned to a dental practice in Wertheim, West Germany. As a result of his excellent service and administrative skills, the U.S. Army awarded Dr. Becker a Medal of Commendation. He also published several journal articles involving dental procedures in Oral Surgery and Oral Pathology
In 1978 Dr. Becker and his wife (Valaree Becker, DDS) moved to North Seattle and started their own dental practice. Dr. Becker focused then, as he does now, on Prevention, Restorative Dentistry, and Comprehensive Integrative Care. In 1994 the Becker’s moved their office to Shoreline where they decided to live in this beautiful community.
Dr. Becker’s comprehensive Dental Practice focuses on providing each client with excellent integrative care, state-of-the-art restorative procedures, and the safest, most durable dental materials available.

Dr. Becker’s quest for knowledge and improved dental health care has never stopped. In 1985 he earned an M.B.A. from the University of Puget Sound and, throughout his career, he has completed nearly 3000 hours of post-graduate education in dentistry. Dr. Becker’s yearly Continuing Dental Education hours typically exceed those required by Washington State.
He continues to provide state-of-the art procedures for patients requesting:
Instructing students of their Dental Hygiene Program. He is out of the office Thursday afternoons teaching restorative techniques to students in a hands on setting.
Working together with the staff at Shoreline Community College to better the future hygienists of our community is something that Dr. Becker enjoys and is very dedicated to.
